With over 10 years of tennis coaching experience, Olivia is a Tennis Australia Next Generation High Performance Coach and one of Australiaโ€™s leading female development coaches. Her passion for the game and extensive international exposure have given her a deep understanding of tennis at all levels.

OLIVIA RICH

As a former No. 1 ranked Australian junior, Olivia won numerous national titles, represented Australia in the Junior Fed Cup, and competed at Junior Grand Slams. She transitioned to the Womenโ€™s ITF circuit and achieved a WTA ranking at just 15.

Now a highly regarded coach, Olivia has a proven ability to identify talent and develop well-rounded athletes with strong technical, tactical, and physical foundations. She has worked with players from beginner hotshots to professionals and coached Australia's top juniors at the National Tennis Academy. Olivia was the 2023 Australian Captain for the Billie Jean King Cup. Before moving into performance Olivia ran a successful community club in Torquay, Victoria for 7 years. 

Olivia also has strong passion for the growing sport of pickleball and believes it complements tennis perfectly. She has been fortunate to gain international experience in both coaching and playing,  in particularly during her time in Florida, USA.

  • Focuses on motor skill development, the coaches deliver fun activities that are centred around developing the players throwing, catching, balance and movement.

    These skills are vital for each player to aid their progression through the following Red, Orange and Green Stages of the Hot Shots Program.

  • Introducing and developing tennis specific skills, basic strategies and the rally

    • Fun, friends, game-based

    • Values: Fair play, persistence, working well with others

    • Larger balls (25% compression)

    • Smaller courts (mini nets)

    • Smaller racquets (21/23 inches)

  • Progressing and extending tennis specific skills, strategies and matchplay

    • Fun, friends, game-based

    • Values: Resilience, respectful relationships

    • Regular sized balls (50% compression)

    • Normal courts and nets (reduced width and length)

    • Smaller racquets (23/25 inches)

  • Extending and refining tennis specific skills and strategies, problem-solving, analysing

    • Fun, friends, game-based

    • Values: Leadership, resilience, empathy, sensitivity

    • Regular sized balls (75% compression)

    • Normal courts and nets

    • Smaller racquets (25/26 inches)

HOT SHOTS

Hot Shots is Tennis Australiaโ€™s official modified program for kids starting tennis. Using smaller courts, lower nets, lighter racquets and low-compression balls that donโ€™t bounce as high make learning tennis fun and easy for children aged 4-10.
